
Thomas Baird
Civil/Structural Engineering
Thomas Baird is a Chartered Structural Engineer with extensive experience in structural design, including residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. Thomas’ previous project work ranges from large newly built concrete and steel structures to the refurbishment of historic and listed buildings. He also has experience in the design of deep basements, alterations to masonry and timber structures, and of designs comprising materials such as carbon fibre-reinforced polymers and glass.
Thomas has been involved in a variety of forensic investigations including cladding and roofing defects which required detailed wind loading analysis, glass panels, and defects in masonry, precast concrete, and modular buildings. He has also carried out analysis on a number of steel and concrete structures, investigating potential design defects including excessive deflections and vibrations.
