Delay and disruption

Airport – Middle East

This project involved the construction of a new international airport terminal in the Middle East.  The Contractor submitted a number of claims with regard to delay and disruption, which were disputed by the Government.

WJM&P were engaged as engineering experts by solicitors acting for the government to advise on the technical aspects of the dispute.  Our investigation included analysis of the large steel roofs, steel and concrete composite floors, and various other steel and concrete elements of the terminal buildings.  All aspects included an element of seismic design, and the analysis of the structure using finite element modelling.

The dispute was decided via arbitration, at which we gave evidence as the civil and structural engineering expert witness.
