Richard Stevenson is a Chartered Civil and Structural Engineer with nearly twenty years of experience in the construction industry. During that time, he has worked on the design and construction of large-scale civil engineering projects, including Crossrail and the East London Line, and various building structures, both in the United Kingdom and overseas. He is experienced in the forensic investigation of civil and structural engineering problems, having advised on matters relating to structural failures and damage, structural defects, heave and subsidence, water ingress, excessive deflections, vibration issues, delays and cost increases, design errors, and workmanship issues.

Richard is regularly instructed as a civil and structural engineering Expert. He has advised lawyers, engineers, contractors, insurers, developers, and building owners on a wide range of disputes, at all stages. Richard has addressed design, materials and workmanship problems in structures including airports, bridges, basements, underground railway stations, residential buildings, commercial and retail developments, museums, military facilities, and power stations. This work has involved attending Expert meetings, preparing joint statements, giving evidence, and preparing Expert reports for exchange in adjudications, international arbitrations and court proceedings.
