Cladding – Scotland

Client: Building Owner

This matter involved extensive and persistent leaks into a number of buildings forming part of an office development in Scotland.

WJM&P were engaged by solicitors acting for the Building Owner to determine the cause of the leaks and to advise on the appropriate remedial works.  Investigations in collaboration with the original Design and Build Contractor revealed a variety of defects in curtain walls, composite metal cladding and roofing panels, and flat roofs and metal rainscreen panels, particularly at the interfaces.  We carried out site inspections and provided advice at both strategic and detailed levels on the remedial solutions proposed by the Design and Build Contractor as part of a settlement agreement.

The matter was settled by negotiation prior to any formal dispute resolution.
